I am a Brooklyn-based photographer drawn to the beauty of nature, the visual poetry found in the streets of the city, and in everyday moments that are often overlooked. I have been making black and white images with a Holga camera for nearly 20 years, using inanimate objects to create mysterious, semi-autobiographic narratives in which the unreal and real overlap in a strange, otherworldly realm. I also work in color with natural light, capturing people, abandoned places, relics from the past, and whatever strikes me as either beautiful, strange, or both. Elements of the surreal, as well as a search for the sublime, run through all my work. My photographs have been exhibited in New York, London, Budapest, Maine, San Francisco and Vietnam. I am always looking and waiting for those rare moments of transcendence when the ordinary becomes extraordinary.
